Elves Speak Out...
Elflords and Kings in Region 10
By: John Hentsch, 1:218/901
Jonathan Rothchild (Hart) didn't feel he was above the rules. He was
exercising his ElfLord rights granted to him by the ElfLord Manifesto
(Policy 4). You see, the document allows tyrannical behavior without
checks or balances. A Network Elflord can remove a Elf's node number at
will. It up to the elf to fight to get it back. Which you did... no
thanks to Policy 4 since ElfLord David Garret was still asleep after
being missing for many years for the Elf region. Elflord Rothchild was
counting on that...
Elflord Rothchild picked a particularly bad time to try to execute one
of his Elves for, at the same time, a power struggle between to wanna-be
Regional ElfLords were just starting for a full showdown in obtaining
ElfLord Garret's Elf Region..
During the on-going battle to decide who would be the new Regional
Elflord, the good Elflord Reese, who was in control, ruled that Elflord
Jonathan Hart was a bully and restored the Elf's node number and
demoted Net Elflord Johathan Rothchild back to a mere elf. Jeff Reese
was one of those anomalies in Fidonet that appear from time to time. He
was know for high moral belief and even-handedness. He apparently
sensed Kohl's evil qualities on the get-go and proceeding to fight the
evil entity.
xElflord Rothchild has since disappeared from echo mail activity since
the fun was now gone from Fidonet. He now lies dormant watching and
waiting for another opportunity to get back to ElfLord status to
gain control over others for more fun-filled evenings.
... But back to the story:
The King Elflord, Satti, got wind of this unacceptable behavior of the
Good ElfLord Reese and replaced the Good Elflord with the Bad Elflord,
Kohl, to the position Regional ElfLord. The Bad ElfLord was so happy
that he promised to vote for the King Elflord whenever he had the
opportunity. He felt that the King ElfLord and himself were tight
buddies after that. The newly appointed ElfLord Kohl was so happy to be
in control of all the elves and sub-elfLords in Region 10, he forgot
about the elf Robres in net 218 as the newly appointed Net Elflord told
Kohl he would make sure the elf Robres didn't cause any more concern.
Elflord Kohl had bigger fish to fry anyway, and moved on rather than
ponder the elf Robres situation any longer.
As time pasted, The bad Elflord Kohl started torturing elves more and
more frequently. It got so bad that a elf Region in the Great White
North heard the screams of a poor group of elves and took them in to
protect them from the evil Elflord. The merciful Elflord couldn't
stand by any longer after the small group of Elves appealed the King
for mercy and to save them from the Evil Elflord. Apparently the pleas
for help were being back-burnered by the King. This move by the
Merciful Elflord was quite bold as it slashed at the Elflord's
manifesto of rules for governing elves.
Elves all over the Elfworld caught wind of the Bad Elflord's behavior
and became unproductive because they feared that they may be next. The
King Elflord had to take immediate action and put an end to Elflord
Kohl's reign of power to keep order in the Elfworld. If he hadn't,
other elves may have started to run away to the safe elf Region in the
North. The saved elves were happy singing praise about their new home in
the Great North. If that contined, all the other Elflords would then be
losing their subjects to govern over... a totally unacceptable
condition for the King unless the Regional Elflords would agree it
was ok.
Elflord Kohl then became very angry at the King Elflords behavior. He
used the F words and stomped his feet all he could. He beat his feet
and arms on the ground and flailed about. The Elflord tried to
use all the tricks he had left in his bag... but nothing was working..
So he did the ultimate, he quit! Surely then the Elflord King would come
running back to Elflord Kohl to plead with him to stay. But no salami,
The King Elflord told the xElflord Kohl to don't let the door hit him
on the ass on his way out...
The walls were falling in on the xElflord Kohl as things became more
blurred from lack of sleep and the realization that he wouldn't be able
to torment elves at will any longer.
In a fit of rage, Elflord Kohl wrote to The Elflord King to threaten
him that he would reveal top secret communications that the King had
engaged with Kohl. The King chuckled to himself since Kohl failed to
realize the he had been playing this game longer and he was quite
successful then Kohl in that he had been promoted the the universal
Elflord on his climb to power. Surely, the King Elflord was well
prepared with a contingency plan to deal with turn-coat sub-Elflords
like Kohl. Matter of fact, it was quite common to hold "book" on other
Elflords since distrust and power grabs can occur when one least
expects it.
xelfLord Kohl had made a big mistake qutting. Now he appeals to the
other Elflords for his Realm back. He misses tormenting the elves and
bossing around the sub Elflords...
The fun of Fidonet is now gone for xElflord Kohl, as it was with
Jonathan Rothchild (Hart). If you can't be a Elflord, what is a person
to do as a mere elf? Perhaps there are other electronic worlds that he
could try to gain control to, once again, fine happiness being in
charge of something...
And the story continues...
